Finally moving again

Our travel plans and the much cooler than normal Florida weather kept us in Merritt Island for almost 3 months. After Spain we were MORE than ready to be on the move again. So we launched for Marineland, FL, which is just south of St. Augustine (our nations oldest city). We felt a little rusty with our boating skills, but we had an uneventful cruise and settled in at Marineland Municipal Marina.

Marineland is across the street from a very quiet, isolated beach. Dea goes almost every day! Also about a ½ mile from a nature walking trail. We plan to be here for about 3 weeks.

We took a couple of days to explore St. Augustine, including one of the oldest working lighthouses.

We also took a ferry to Fort Matanzas, a Spanish fort from the 1700’s.

Our marina seems to attract dolphins and manatees. Almost every day we see dolphins feeding in the marina.

We found a local fish monger that sells the fresh catch of the day and have been enjoying red snapper, shrimp, salmon and the best crab cakes ever! Larry was inspired, and caught our breakfast earlier this week.

We have one more week here and we will start moving North again. We will update you soon.
