We are big fans of the Kentucky Derby. We really wanted to watch somewhere with a big screen and a crowd. We ended up at a bar in St. Augustine that was having a fundraiser for hospice care. It was a $10 cover with mint juleps, bar food and a silent auction. We got our $10 worth for sure! It was pretty crowded, so we invited a local couple to sit with us. Daphne and Jerry were delightful and ended up inviting us to their home the next evening for dinner. Of course we said yes! We were hosted at the most beautiful home, built 12 years ago, but made to look like an old plantation style home. Huge porches, pillars, shutters on the outside. Inside the kitchen had a modern stove that looked like it came from the 1800’s and a huge white farm house sink. They shared amazing food, stories and company and even blessed us with books, a candle and leftovers. We were so blessed by “the people you meet along the way”.

We spent our last week in St. Augustine enjoying beautiful sunsets and working on the boat.

After being in Florida since Thanksgiving, we left the following weekend heading to GA. St. Augustine was a lovely view from our boat.

Out last night in Florida was on Amelia Island at Fernadina Beach. We were parked next to a boat that made Red Pearl look like a dinghy!

Next up, Georgia!
