Most of you know that Larry is a Sales Guy, not an engineer or mechanic. You should also know that on a boat there is ALWAYS a problem or a project, AND BOAT stands for Bring Out Another Thousand$$ (or Two or Ten!). We have had several issues, and I wanted to give Larry a shout out for how proud I am of his ability to fix problems and avoid calling in a service technician. With the help of YouTube and our friend Ask Captain Chris he has saved us several thousands!

We were having a small leak and really couldn’t figure out where it was from. We knew it was from the ocean and not our fresh water as we tasted it and it was salt water. We would clean up the water and it would refill by the next day. With the help of Captain Chris and a new wrench Larry was able to able to identify a leak in the rudder post and fix it. Now we are dry as a bone!

The previous owners put in a nice ice maker. It has always been a bit cranky, but it finally just stopped dropping ice. We were able to order a new component for it, and Larry successfully replaced it and we have ice again!

Finally, our refrigerator was not as cold as it should be. Google said to defrost it and then pull it out and clean the coils and vents. When we pulled it out we discovered the refrigerator was leaking from condensation because the insulation had worn out and the floor was rotting away. Larry became refrigerator repair guy and carpenter when he fixed the fridge and tore out and replaced the floor!

I am sure there will be another problem soon, but I have more and more confidence is Larry’s ability to fix it. Once again, I am super impressed and proud of all the hard work he does, on the job and off! He is making this crazy adventure we are on easy to enjoy!
